booking honeymoon - tick.

last night, m.r. and i booked our honeymoon flights!

we're so ridiculously excited.

we fly into los angeles and plan on spending 3 weeks road-tripping around california (with a little detour into vegas and grand canyon!)

we haven't started planning details yet, but the flights are booked! aaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!

that means we're actually doing this......we're actually going to be doing something we both wanted to do before we even met each other.

and now, not only do we get to experience california the way we dreamed we would, but we get to do it together. which will make it a million times better than i could have ever hoped it would be.

p.s. in a few months, i will definitely be looking for some tips and advice so get your planning heads on people!

saved from the monday blues

i had the monday blues today.

no special reason. although, i guess i'm so ready to be at my new job now, the last few days here are passing slowly.

but then i received this wonderfully cheerful email from my mum and my blues faded away:

Just had another look at the photos of your wedding dress and it is absolutely beautiful.

Luv MUM xx

isn't it lovely how the little things can make all the difference!

p.s. sorry i can't post any photos of wedding dress in question - i'm being very secretive about the dress and don't want the wrong people to catch sight of it!!

sunday, fun sunday

with m.r. working on the laptop and bob dylan providing a soundtrack to our sunday, i spent the morning baking a cake.

one of my dearest friends had nominated himself to host an afternoon tea session and cook a few of us an english roast. the cake was my way of saying thank you.

the host will actually be my usher at our wedding. i realise it isn't exactly traditional for the bride to have an usher, but i wanted him to be part of the day somehow, so i've let tradition take a back seat on this one.

so usher, dinner was delicious, thank you - a fantastic way to finish off the weekend!

exams next week...........darn. why oh why is it so hard to focus and study?????
